South First Street

With boundaries similar to South Lamar, South First runs through zero-four parallel to South Congress and South Lamar. Although not as congested with traffic, the feel is more residential than store front, but don’t let that fool you. South First is home to some of South Austin’s best kept secrets. Whether it’s pitchin’ washers at Freddie’s, grabbing a cold beer at the G&S Lounge, al fresco dining at Torchy’s Tacos, having dinner at Somnio’s Cafe listening to live music at Jovita’s or eating cake balls at Holy Cacao (yes, I said cake balls…) the flavor of South First is waiting to be discovered.
